South African Afro pop duet Blaq Diamond, often known as BlaQ Diamond, is from Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal. They first connected in 2010 during a field trip where they both took part in a bus-bound music cypher.

They joined the record company Ambitiouz Entertainment and put out their debut album, Inqola (2017), which hit number one on iTunes for the first time.

The group first rose to fame thanks to their 2019 single “Ibhanoyi,” which won “SAMA Record of the Year.”

Their 2020 album Umuthi, their second studio effort, produced the platinum-selling singles “Ibhanoyi” and “Love Letter.”
