Alhaji (Dr) Mamman Shata was a musician from Nigeria who was born in Musawa, Katsina State, in 1900 and passed away on June 18, 1999.

He was well-known among West African Hausa griots and musicians. His singing was frequently accompanied by kalangu, or talking drums. For more than 50 years, he entertained the Hausa people of Northern Nigeria as well as non-Hausas.
